Communities
Western Australian Community Foundation provides a unique opportunity for communities to establish long-term sustainability.
As Trustee, the Foundation is the umbrella organisation for WA communities to benefit from philanthropy without the burden of administration and governance responsibilities. Donations and gifts are accepted and managed to earn annual income which is reinvested in the nominated community as a regular source of funds for future generations.
Western Australian Community Foundation supports communities by providing knowledge and techniques to build networks and grow funds for the long-term benefit of current and future generations.
Local advisory committees, made up of a collection of local community representatives, work closely with the Foundation and:
-
Remain connected with and focused on the immediate and emergent needs of their community.
-
Advise Western Australian Community Foundation’s participation in their community.
-
Monitor the changing culture, needs and priorities of their community.
-
Identify, recommend and pursue funding opportunities.
-
Provide perspectives that will inform and improve Western Australian Community Foundation operations.
Unlike other Australian community foundations, Western Australian Community Foundation’s individual structure and model allows it to be a community foundation responsive to WA community needs.
