For Peel to thrive and prosper, community members need to take steps to create strong and resilient communities in the region. Recent, rapid growth in Peel has highlighted the need for the community to invest in a sustainable, long-term future. The Peel Community Foundation is a local initiative, supported by Western Australian Community Foundation, providing individuals and businesses with an opportunity to contribute to a positive lasting legacy for the community. The Peel Community Foundation is able to:
-
understand the changing needs of the Peel community, making charitable giving more effective;
-
provide an easy mechanism for achieving the communities’ charitable giving objectives; and
-
provide an opportunity to work together, building an independent long-term resource for the Peel community.
The Peel Community Foundation strengthens the community by supporting worthwhile local projects; initiatives that enhance the long-term wellbeing of the region and its environment.
Local Advisory Committee
Western Australian Community Foundation has developed a structure using local advisory committees made up of community volunteers who make recommendations for the distribution of funds in their community. This ensures grass roots input and participation. No other community foundation in Australia shares this model. Peel Community Foundation local advisory committee members are:

Gift of Giving
Western Australian Community Foundation can accept contributions from individuals, businesses, government or community organisations on behalf of the Peel Community Foundation. Contributions can be in the form of tax-deductible donations and non-tax deductible philanthropic gifts, such as bequests. By supporting the Peel Community Foundation, donations and gifts build a local endowment, where the income earned is used to provide a reliable and regular source of funds for charitable grants within the community in perpetuity.
