Specialised support for women and children experiencing domestic and family abuse and homelessness. Our services include two crisis accommodation refuges in northern Sydney, case management and other practical support.

Domestic Abuse

 

Domestic and family abuse is a major social and public health issue.

Whilst anybody may experience domestic and family abuse, research shows that women are more likely to experience repeated and severe forms of abuse. Both domestic and family abuse include physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and financial abuse. Women and children who have exposure to domestic abuse encounter multifaceted challenges, and benefit greatly accessing dedicated and specialised services.

  • Crisis Accommodation

  • Case Planning and Case Management

  • Assistance and Advocacy for affordable housing, including transitional housing

  • Psychoeducation workshops for survivors of domestic abuse

  • Support groups for women

  • Play groups for children

  • Legal Advice Clinics

  • Court Support

Women & Children First refuges provide short-term accommodation to women and children who are experiencing domestic and family abuse and/or are struggling with homelessness. Our support is focused on helping women and children to heal and rebuild their lives.

We welcome women and children of all backgrounds and ages, including temporary visa holders.
